"The Cure Is" : A film that will change the way you think
I had the pleasure of watching a new documentary film called "The Cure Is" that will be released on Nov. 11, 2012. My friend, journalist and director of Conscious Life Media, Shannon Dunn, kindly asked me to prescreen the movie, thinking it may be of interest to me due to its subject of healing the body through the mind. And it was! But I can assure you this movie is not just for those of us in the healing/health/spiritual profession, it's every person's documentary.
This is a film about how your thoughts, beliefs, and unresolved emotions are the greatest threat to your health. And how your thoughts, beliefs, and resolved emotions are the greatest contributors to your health.
So, of course, you have the usual brilliant talking heads in this movie, Dr. Bruce Lipton and Marianne Williamson (Marianne, can you please give credit to A Course in Miracles when you quote it in interviews? "Every thought produces form at some level" is from A Course in Miracles, "All thinking produces form at some level." Minor point, but personally I like to see the Course get the credit it deserves.)
What I especially liked about the movie is that it didn't stop with the mind and thoughts. It talked about the benefits of eating a plant-based diet, too. Though I am a hypnotherapist who believes all problems and thus all solutions are in the mind, I also believe in taking care of the body through plant-based foods.
It was nice to see Dr. Bernie Siegel, a man I've long admired, talking along side Dr. Joel Fuhrman, another man I sit up and listen to whenever he speaks.
It's time for a movie like this. We are ready. We are ready to wake-up to our own inner power. We are ready to take control and responsibility of our health and wellbeing by taking control of our thinking. This movie is an integral part of a new groundswell of awareness that is sweeping our consciousness. And it managed to impart its important message without cheesy reenactments. Bonus points.
